Overview

The safari is very popular for good reason as it combines all the best aspects of a Kenyan safari. The vast itinerary offers a chance to experience the majestic Masai Mara, the flamingos of Lake Nakuru, the unbelievable vistas of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the fresh water springs at Mzima in Tsavo West, and the red elephants of Tsavo East.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi

Arrive in the capital city of Nairobi and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at The Nairobi Sarova Panafric Hotel (BB)

Day 2 - Wednesday - Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast you will drive past the extinct volcano of Mt. Longonot and Suswa into the homelands of the Masai. The Masai Mara located on Kenya’s southern boarder with Tanzania, constitutes the northern stretch of the Serengeti and has the richest concentration of animals in Kenya. After lunch at the Mara Sopa Lodges you will have the opportunity to observe the unique world of the Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Sarova Camp (FB)

Day 3 - Thursday - Masai Mara Game Reserve

You will spend a full day on a game drive which will take you through the vast plains of the Masai Mara searching for the “Big Five”: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. For lunch you will return to the Mara Sopa Lodges. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Sarova Camp (FB)

Day 4 - Friday - Masai Mara Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

Your journey will take you straight to Lake Nakuru, which is notorious for its flocks of flamingos and pelicans. The park also boasts over 30 rhinos as well as a large population of leopards. Lunch at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge will be followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova Camp Lodges (FB)

Day 5 - Saturday - Lake Nakuru National Park - Amboseli National Park

Your day will start with an early morning game drive through the Lake Nakuru National Park. After breakfast at you will drive a short distance to Nairobi for lunch in the Carnivore Restaurant . After lunch you will drive to Amboseli National Park, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge (FB)

Day 6 - Sunday - Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park

After early breakfast drive to Amboseli National Park for game drive. Lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. After Lunch depart for Tsavo West National Park. On the drive you will pass the amazing lava flows of the Shetani rocks to Mzima Spring. Continue with afternoon game drive en-route to Ziwani Voyager Camp. Dinner and overnight at Ziwani Safari Camp (FB)

Day 7 - Monday - Tsavo West National Park - Tsavo East National Park

The day starts with an early morning game drive before breakfast. Breakfast in the Ziwani Safari Camp. After breakfast drive via Makitau Gate to Tsavo East National Park arriving Satao Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Tsavo East National Park. Dinner and overnight at Satao Camp . (FB)

Day 8 - Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa

Another early morning game drive before breakfast at Satao Camp. After breakfast you will drive to Mombasa.

Mara Sarova Camp

The rolling plains around the camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles and zebras during the migration months, and the camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. A wildlife safari puts you right in the middle of all this action. Get a first-hand account of this epic phenomenon and live to tell the tale. A safari also helps you acquaint yourself with the landscapes of this beautiful African setting.

By virtue of its location and layout, the camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sport fishing and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai village.

Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge

Located on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, the lodge offers spectacular views over the vastness of Africa. The lodge also overlooks Lake Nakuru and its surrounding National Park, one that is a paradise for bird watchers and wildlife lovers alike. Lake Nakuru National Park is mainly a wooded and bushy grassland with a wide ecological diversity and characteristic habitats that range from the lake waters to the escarpment and ridges.

Carnivore Restaurant

The Carnivore is the ultimate 'Beast of a Feast' A variety of meats including ostrich, crocodile and camel, are roasted over charcoal and carved at your table. Delicious side dishes and an exceptional array of sauces complement this fixed price feast that also includes soup,a selection of desserts and Kenyan coffee. Set in attractive tropical gardens, the service and the décor are outstanding.

The Carnivore opened its doors in September 1980 to instant success. The food, service and atmosphere were strikingly different from anything in Kenya and has since played host to over 2 million customers from across the globe including numerous celebrities. In fact the Carnivore visitors book read like a global who is who!

The atmosphere combines the rustic feel of a rural setting and a medieval banquet hall. Another famous feature to set the tone of the Carnivore experience is the house cocktail The 'Dawa' (magic potion in Swahili). It is based on a famous Brazilian drink, and was introduced to Kenyans at The Carnivore. It is brought to you on a portable tray by the medicine man fittingly named Dr. Dawa.

Ziwani Safari Camp
