Overview

The largest stock of animals in Africa is in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Shaba Game Reserve is home to lions, leopards, the rare and unusual reticulated giraffe, not to mention hundreds of types of birds and other animals. Nakuru National Park is the paradise of birds and the home of rhinos. This tour ends off in the amazing Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy that has over 190+ rhinos and is the only reserve where one can see the very rare Northern White Rhino. Ol Pejeta also boasts some of the best wildlife experiences with the Chimpanzee Sanctuary as well as the big five all available on this private conservancy. Experience in a week the fascinating world of Africa’s animals.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi

Arrive in the capital city of Nairobi and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at The Nairobi  Sarova Panafric Hotel 

Day 2 - Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve

Drive past the extinct volcano of Mt. Longonot and Suswa into the homelands of the Maasai. The Masai Mara constitutes the northern stretch of the Serengeti and has the richest concentration of animals in Kenya. In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to observe the unique world of the Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova Camp or similar (FB)

Day 3 - Masai Mara Game Reserve

You spend the full day on game drives through the tremendous fauna of the Masai Mara searching for the “Big Five”: (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard). Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova Camp or similar (FB)

Day 4 - Masai Mara Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

Your journey takes you straight to Lake Nakuru, which is known for its sensational flamingos and pelicans. The park also boasts over 30 rhinos as well as a large population of leopards. After lunch in Lion Hill Lodge enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar (FB)

Day 5 - Lake Nakuru National Park - Samburu Game Reserve

Drive across the Great Rift Valley and then past Mount Kenya to Shaba Game Reserve. This reserve is situated in the dry area of Northern Kenya, where the nomad tribes, the Samburus, the Rendilles and the Boran live. After lunch you will encounter the amazing landscape of the Samburu Game Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar (FB)

Day 6 - Samburu Game Reserve

Full day game drives in this beautiful area known for its greve zebras and the gerenuk gazelles. You then take a game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro river, the only source of water for this dry park. Dinner and overnight in Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar (FB)

Day 7 - Shaba Game Reserve - Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy

After breakfast depart and drive past Mt. Kenya towards Nanyuki. Enter Ol Pejeta Conservancy for game drive on route to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Lunch followed by afternoon game drive and visit to Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp (FB)

Day 8 - Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy - Nairobi

Transfer to Nairobi in the morning to connect end your safari or connect another Southern Cross Safaris itinerary.

Mara Sarova Camp

The rolling plains around the camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles and zebras during the migration months, and the camp is situated right in the center of their migration path.
